I’m honoured to be on FARNOVA’s board as the Chief Financial Officer. My hope is to strengthen FARNOVA financially so we can support the many Persian-Canadian immigrants and citizens of Canada. Although I now live in Canada, no matter where i am or how many years pass, Iran will always be in my heart. I am passionate about promoting the safety of Persians everywhere and helping Persians thrive.

Zahra Shafieian

I am honoured to be on FARNOVA’s Board. As someone who imigrated myself to Canada from Iran, I am deeply passionate about supporting the advancement and interests of my fellow Persian-Canadians. Having strong familial ties in Iran, and being a proud Persian myself, I am excited to be part of FARNOVA as we advocate for the liberation, strength, community, advancement, and virtuosity of Persians everywhere.

My love for Iran, its rich culture, and its invaluable heritage was one of the most important reasons I chose to join Farnova. I believe that culture is the foundation of growth, development, and connection among individuals and communities. Preserving and promoting Iranian culture and passing this precious heritage on to future generations is, for me, both a responsibility and an honor.
I am proud and grateful to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of Farhang Novin, alongside a group of people who share a deep love for Iran and its rich cultural heritage. I am honored to contribute, even in a small way, to this meaningful journey.

Saloumeh Ahadi

Saloumeh Ahadi is a community leader, project professional, and certified coach with extensive experience in nonprofit organizations, newcomer support, and community engagement. She is passionate about promoting cross-cultural understanding, inclusion, and a sense of belonging within Canada’s multicultural society. As CEO, Saloumeh is committed to creating initiatives that help newcomers and families overcome cultural barriers, strengthen communication, and build meaningful connections within their communities.

Marjan Kasirlou

BScN, MBA, LSSGB, is an accomplished healthcare leader with more than 25 years of experience across acute, chronic, long-term, retirement, and home care. She currently serves as General Manager of York Home Care Inc. A recognized innovator, Marjan pioneered Ontario’s first Long-Term Care Outreach Home Hemodialysis Program and introduced an internationally educated healthcare professional recruitment model for assisted dialysis when she served as Independent Dialysis Coordinator at Humber River Health. Her expertise spans chronic kidney disease, clinical education, multidisciplinary leadership, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement. Through her leadership with the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario, she advanced a resolution addressing social isolation and loneliness among older adults that contributed to a $14.1-million provincial investment in more than 300 Senior Active Living Centre programs. Her achievements include the June Awrey Award for leadership, recognition on York University’s Dean’s Honour Roll, and numerous research publications and presentations at national and international forums. Guided by compassion, collaboration, and a commitment to health equity, Marjan continues to champion innovative care models that improve outcomes for patients, families, and communities.
Marjan is a political activist and former candidate for provincial parliament in Ontario, Canada. She is devoted to Iran’s liberation campaign under leadership of his royal highness Reza Pahlavi, and committed to advocating for human rights in Iran.
